GUY FAWKES DAY
In November 1605, the Gunpowder Plot took place. Some Catholics planned to explode the English Parliament and King James l, on the day the king opened Parliament. These men were angry because the king had treated them badly and they didn't like it. But they couln't do it in the end.
The story is remembered each 5th November when people burn 'Guys' in a bonfire in a celebration known as "Bonfire Night". They also have fireworks.
