PRONUNCIATION: some help

First try to repeat the audiowords in New English File here: today choose the NUMBERS, COUNTRIES & NATIONALITIES and COMMON OBJECTS.

Secondly, practise the pronunciation of the verb TO BE in the affirmative, negative and interrogative; visit here spokenenglish.org. The alphabet is here... it's quite fast, but don't panic, it's OK.

By the way, I found this great tool in "the English Blog". If you use Mozilla Firefox, there is a fantastic add-on for English learners: "Pronounce". It uses the services on www.merriam-webster.com so the accent is American. If I can find something similar in British English, I'll tell you. INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Download it here.  (be careful, if you have the version of Firefox 7.0.1  it doesn't work)
  2. Install it and restart Firefox
  3. Select a word
  4. Right click on it and choose Pronounce.
  5. luckily you'll hear the word pronounced.
